One of the best ways to vastly improve both the look and security of your home is to have one of our doors fitted on your property. Not only will you get a bespoke product, you will get it fitted to the highest standard for both security and thermal efficiency.
When fitting a door it is very important to tightly pack behind the hinges. This stops any horizontal movement which prevents the door from dropping in the future (a common problem with poorly fitted doors) and also stops potential intruders from barring the door frame to gain access to the property.
It is also important to pack behind the handles & locking mechanisms. This is another area that intruders will target so it’s important to pack this area tightly to help prevent any potential movement here which would be to the advantage of intruders seeking to gain entry.
At finesse we use 142mm masonry fixings, as standard, for doors. This ensures a solid fix and means there will be no movement of the frame during operation and guarantees both security and longevity of the door.
Gaps between the door frame and the walls are sealed using both expanding foam and silicone. The expanding foam and silicone are also very effective at preventing movement and are also brilliant thermal and sound insulators.
Glass is internally glazed and it packed securely to minimize movement and, again, to ensure security. The double glazing is toe and heel packed, this is a method used so that the door doesn’t drop and compromise the function of the locking mechanism and hinder security.
At Finesse we pride ourselves in being able to provide and fit some of the most secure doors on the market.
