Our History

Finesse Windows was created in 1981 by the father of current owners Russell and Ellie, David Bridge, with the support of Glenda Bridge. With just a single van, the company quickly became the talk of the window buying public in the Birmingham area and a popular choice among customers, all under the slogan ‘It’s the installation that counts’. Early years of operation that saw double glazing becoming increasingly popular, together with other changes in the industry, buoyed a growing business that always adhered to the philosophy of ‘family first’.

That growth ensured that the traditional concept of family was soon outdated and the business soon began to recruit new experts into the family, originally to assist with installations before branching out into the design and manufacture elements of the business that continue to be at the core of our operations to this day.

While the demand for windows continued, the accumulation of such a vast knowledge base within the business saw the opportunity arise to branch out further. Doors, conservatories, porches and more soon became essential parts of the Finesse offering, eventually leading to the company becoming a full service home improvement provider. The qualities that set the windows apart from others continued and while it was no longer just ‘the installation that counts’, the philosophies that drove the initial growth of the company continued into other areas, much to the delight of customers and the company alike.

The family based philosophy extends not only to the management team and staff, but also to the customers. We look to build a close relationship with absolutely everyone that we work with as this allows us to really understand the requirements and plan our projects accordingly. The company has worked with hundreds of individuals in the residential, commercial and education sectors and it is the bonds that we have formed with our clients that have allowed us to deliver to the highest standards time and time again.

When visiting our showroom today, it can be seen that we have come a long way from our beginnings back in 1981. Customers can see not only what we have to offer, but how it goes from being an idea to carry out some home improvements to coming to fruition through design and manufacture. The showroom and factory may be packed with the latest technology and the largest team that Finesse has ever assembled, but the family philosophy has never changed. To this day, and well into the future, we will be looking ‘to provide our customers with the very best windows, products and services we can’.

If you’re looking to become a part of the Finesse Windows story and experience our values first hand, while also ensuring a home improvement experience unlike anything you will have seen anywhere before, be sure to get in touch with us via our contact page or even drop in to the factory showroom – we’re always happy to be of service.
