FORGING THE FINESSE FAMILY
The Finesse Windows story began on 1st April 1981 when David Bridge and Peter O’Neil set out to change the way in which bespoke windows were designed, manufactured and installed, with the unswerving support of Glenda Bridge and Diana O’Neil. With just a single van, they created a business based on a carefully crafted products, fitted correctly with the customer at the heart of it all. Our company quickly became a local name you could trust in the Birmingham area with a strong belief that ‘It’s the installation that counts’.
Finesse’s early years saw double glazing becoming increasingly popular, the industry was growing rapidly and was helping to modify homes through the 1980s. Our first windows were aluminium as homeowners wanted an alternative to their draughty, rattling timber windows. But as demand moved away from aluminium the white Upvc market took off. Finesse was part of this architectural revolution and moved with the times always focused on what was best for home owners with aesthetics, energy efficiency and security in mind.
They knew things could be done differently and wanted to bring honesty and integrity to an industry that was seriously lacking in both. The company was built on family values and treating homes as our own. Our company flourished through the 90s and into the 00s. We were no longer just a window company but doors, conservatories, porches, garage doors and roofline services soon became essential parts of the Finesse offering, eventually leading to the company becoming a full home improvement provider.
We have always had a factory and a showroom so have always been able to welcome clients into our showroom ‘home’ and guarantee quality in our production but making the majority of our products ourselves. Customers are always welcome to tour the factory too and see where the ‘Finesse’ happens. A made to measure service handcrafted here in the Midlands. We take pride in our manufacturing heritage and are definitely a proud Brummie company in the heart of the city.
