It is estimated that there are approximately 1.1 million people living in Birmingham. This equates to approximately 275,000 homes (assuming an average of 4 people per home). Over our 35 year history we estimate that we have installed in approximately 17,000 homes in the Birmingham area. This (very basic, unscientific) analysis shows that as many as one in every 16 homes in Birmingham has Finesse Windows products installed in them. A figure that we are enormously proud of.
Different areas of Birmingham boast a very diverse mix of properties. We have been privileged to have worked on all of them. It is very important to understand the construction of the different types of properties because each type of property presents a different set of challenges to our surveying and installation teams.
For example, a Georgian terraced house in Harborne or Bearwood will often require a specialist replacement of a traditional box sash window. A bay window replacement in a 1950’s semi-detached property in Rubery or Quinton for example will require an expert installation utilising load bearing acro props for support. A detached home in Solihull or Sutton Coldfield may require a catnic lintel to facilitate the installation of a large bi-folding door.
We love installing in Birmingham, what’s more we love manufacturing in Birmingham too. It is a modern day reality that too many products we buy and use every-day are naturally made overseas. We take great pride in sourcing the vast majority of the parts we use in manufacturing from within Birmingham and we hope that in some small way we are helping to keep alive the great tradition of Birmingham manufacturing. Many of our competitors do not manufacture their own products – instead relying on buying-in finished goods from other areas of the country and from overseas. As a company we are committed to manufacturing our own products wherever possible.
