For example, a P-Shaped conservatory can be designed with square edges and 90 degree corners to maximise the useable space, and it is vital to look at the position of the existing and external doors to maximise the functionality of the room and avoid the ‘corridor effect’.

There can of course be a need to obtain planning permission depending on your property, however in most cases they rarely require building regulation approval as long as they are separated from your main home with existing external doors and the new floor area is less than 30m². Some people choose to use the entire room for a single purpose, however most tend to split the area, with the larger squarer part as a dining room and the other section for an alternate use.

A main benefit of a P-Shaped Conservatories is that they are able to be designed to be either left or right handed, this allows the conservatory to fit best in the available space.
