In a nutshell we are constantly trying to make sure that our installers are safe and that they can achieve an excellent finish to their work – sometimes this is only possible with the use of scaffolding.
As you can imagine we install in to many different types of properties which present many challenges. The housing types that we work on in across the West Midlands, especially in Solihull, Harborne, Selly Oak and Halesowen is extraordinarily diverse in terms of the size, age, construction, ground conditions and glazing apertures that we come across. Therefore, we have to employ a process which incorporates many criteria to make a decision as to the need for scaffolding.
In order to make this decision we go through a process which looks at various aspects of the work in question. By systematically considering each of these aspects, our designers are able to provide consistent advice to all our clients regarding the best way to fulfil their work.
If you would like to see our process in action we would be happy to talk you through it in detail so that you can visualise the decisions we make and why we make them. For a brief introduction of the criteria considered please see the following information which we hope serves as a good introduction as to our thought process on each and every project we are asked to undertake.
Height – if the work is above first floor level we would normally automatically use scaffolding.
Dormer Windows – it is often the case that a dormer window is set back from the property roof line therefore can only be safely reached via scaffold.
Lintels – if we are installing a steel lintel above a window we will normally use scaffold (unless the window is at ground floor level).
Windows above Conservatories / Porches – any type of structure that prevents us from being able to put a ladder up to reach a window is considered to be an obstruction that requires scaffolding.
There are many other factors that we consider to ensure that your project is completed safely and to the exacting standard that we would expect were we the customer. Everything we do is designed, manufactured and fitted with care.
