Doors in Birmingham

Your front door is an extremely important part of your home. If you think about it, your front door is not only your first line of defence against all that the outside world has to offer it also says a lot about you as a person. Your front door is a statement – what does your door say about you?

We install hundreds of front doors every year – all of them are as individual as our customers and no two are alike – each one manufactured as a bespoke item to the exacting requirements of our customers.

In our experience, nowadays most homeowners prefer to add a splash of colour to their choice of front door. Traditionally (over the last 30 years) it has been common for UPVC front doors to be either white or brown in colour. However, the last few years have seen a major shift towards coloured composite or UPVC front doors. Here at Finesse we find that the most popular door colours are Dark Blue, then Black, closely followed by Red, Irish Oak and Green. More recently Anthracite Grey has become very popular and we find that this colour suits all types of property from the ultra-modern to the very traditional Georgian & Victorian properties.

The appeal of composite doors:

Composite doors offer many benefits – they are very secure, maintenance-free but they also look fantastic – bringing you all the benefits of a traditional timber front door but without the headaches of maintaining one. We do offer composite doors but we also install Palladio doors which we believe are the best doors available in the UK today. A Palladio door by Finesse brings you all the benefits of a composite door but is even more secure and even more draught proof. They really do have to be seen to be believed.

One of the most important features of a Palladio door is that its glass area is triple glazed as standard. Normally, the glass area is the most vulnerable part of the door from a security point of view, so when designing a door it makes good sense to make the glazed area as small as possible. Here are a few examples of some Palladio doors that we have installed. As you can see, the triple glazed glass areas are fairly small – but we think still make for a very attractive design.

We have many more doors on show in our showroom in Kings Norton Birmingham and we would be delighted to show you some when you visit in person.
