This April we are celebrating 40 years of continuous trading! April 1981 saw our little family business open and thrive. With hard work, commitment, and an unswerving belief in offering the best customer service, we find ourselves in the privileged position of still being able to manufacture quality products, fitted by the very best, and most importantly all done with care. Of course, we look after it all too, for a decade.

However, we are not arrogant enough to assume this is a given. We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) by HomePro. But what does this actually mean?

A HomePro Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) will protect your financial investment by matching the terms of your contractor’s original guarantee should they have ceased to trade*. So, if they are no longer in a position to honour a claim – your project may still be protected. (HomePro Website)

Our IBG offers cover from the very start including the deposit, work in progress and the guarantee period. Therefore, all our customers are protected every step of the way and can have complete peace of mind. It is also transferable to new owners of a property should a customer decide to move house.

FENSA dictates that its members must have IBG in place so that even if the installation company ceases to trade, the policy’s underwriters will consider claims under the terms of the original guarantee for the remaining period of the guarantee. For example, if a tradesman provides you with a 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee and then, for whatever reason, ceases to trade after 5 years, you could still submit a claim within the remaining 5 years should a fault occur on the installation. However, it is not for any of the reasons above that we have ours and we do not provide it simply to tick a box dictated by FENSA. We have insured all of our work since 2005, FENSA only made insurance compulsory in 2014. This is because we have always believed in protecting our customers and our installations which we are very proud of. We know that they will continue to be looked after if anything should happen to us. It also provides us with another layer of customer feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our service and Homepro provides all our customers with an opportunity to tell us what they thought of the experience. We value and appreciate the time taken by our customers to do this and we read every single one.

Surely all companies offer this service? Sadly, this is not the case, either because they don’t feel it is important, worth the extra expense or because they don’t qualify. Homepro’s vetting process is extensive.

All contractors that offer HomePro IBGs have been extensively checked by us to ensure they have good financial and legal ratings, and excellent references from previous customers.

All you have to do is activate the policy and then relax knowing your home improvements are in good hands, whilst we look to the next 40 years and beyond!
