5 Tips on how to Revitalise your Home – Part 2

“When your home is filled with clutter, you may be thwarted in your attempts to improve your relationships or professional pursuits”, Joey Yap, 2008.

According to the Chinese art of Feng Shui, your home feeds your energy and creating a well-balanced, clutter-free surrounding can improve your attitude to life and develop your relationships.

We’ve put together some tips on how to bring your home to life and improve its vivacity this summer
– Part 2.

Is it out of season?

Autumn is fast approaching and there’s no better time than now to clear away last season’s clothes – wardrobes can be one of the worst areas for accumulating clutter! All you’ve got to do is follow this simple rule: if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it, get rid (or give to charity). If it’s out of season but you want to keep it, store it away.

Storing what is not needed (for now)

If you keep a spare set of pillows, duvets and bedding for when guests are over, we can imagine the storage situation being a bit of a nightmare. However, this can be solved! Vacuum bags are great to compress large items like these without them getting damaged. These magical vacuum bags can reduce the size of a duvet to more than half!

Bring the outdoors in

Create a homely atmosphere by brightening the place up with some fresh flowers or some welcoming plants. A great plant to add into any room is an orchid – they not only look beautiful, but if you take care of them they’ll also last for ages!

Clearing out the kitchen cupboards

It’s hard to realise how much food you accumulate that has gone past its sell by date. We recommend you grab a black bag and you clear out your kitchen cupboards every couple of months. This way you’ll realise what doesn’t get used and you’ll purchase what’s actually needed to reduce the amount you waste.

Rearrange what you already have

By simply rearranging your room, you’ll be surprised to see how much can be moved to create extra space. Also, by making these changes you’re able to clean and dust areas that you wouldn’t normally be able to reach.
