UPVc Double Glazing Windows

One of the few opportunities that you have to alter, maintain or improve the appearance of your home is when you decide to replace your windows or doors. This process may increase or decrease the value of your home depending on the decisions that you make. In order to get the full benefit from your investment you need to consider the following:

  • Design
  • Security
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Cost Design

UPVc double-glazed windows should be designed in such a way that they maintain or improve the appearance of your home. Ventilation is very important, as is egress in the case of fire.

Security

Finesse casement windows have been laboratory tested and the design-specification has passed the requirements of home contents Insurance Companies and the Police security by Design Standards.

It makes good sense to ensure that the locking systems will withstand all but the most determined and prolonged attack. Careful selected locking system ensures that you can safely have larger opening windows on the ground floor without compromising on security. Fully galvanized steel reinforced frames ensure every fastening drives deep and firm into steel for extreme strength and rigidity. The steel reinforcement also adds extra strength and rigidity in cases of an attack with a crowbar or a similar implement a burglar might choose to try and force entry.

Energy Efficiency & Cost

Ninety to ninety- five percent of the surface area on any window is glass. It makes good economic sense to obtain the most efficient double-glazed sealed units in order to minimise heat loss, save money and gain comfort. Not all sealed units are the same. (some are up to 30% more efficient). The level of efficiency will have a direct effect on your comfort and your energy bills. Finesse double glazed sealed units incorporate the latest energy efficient glass and super spacer warm edge technology.

Warm Edge Technology

All our double-glazed windows, doors and conservatories are glazed with sealed units incorporating a structural foam strip, which separates the two pieces of glass that form the sealed unit. It is called 'Super Spacer'.

Super Spacer replaces the traditional aluminium spacer bar, which has been used for over 40 years. Replacing the aluminium, (conductor of cold and sound) with Super Spacer, (an insulator) has the effect of increasing the temperature around the edge of the sealed unit by up to 6°C compared with the traditional sealed units, significantly reducing the incidence of condensation and noise ingress. True energy efficiency is not achievable using aluminium spacer bars.

Sealed units incorporating Warm Edge Technology are improved even further when used in conjunction with low emissivity glass. This glass has an invisible coating on one face, which allows Ultra Violet short wave length heat from the sun to pass freely through the sealed units into your home.

When the external temperature drops in the evenings, the heat gained during the day wants to flow out again together with any other heat, which you may be generating from your central heating or gas appliances etc. This radiated heat is infrared radiated heat and it has a longer wavelength than ultra violet.

The invisible coating reflects the heat back into your home helping to reduce your energy bills. Incorporating Low E Glass and Warm Edge Technology provides a U value well below the target set out in amendments to document 'L' which is an existing document covering building regulations.

In short Finesse double glazed casement windows keep the warmth in and the cold out.
